About the Global Methodist Church
We are a congregation of the Global Methodist Church – a global denomination committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the inspiration and authority of the Scriptures, and the work of the Holy Spirit in conveying God’s truth and grace to all people.
History
Trinity Global Methodist Church, which is grounded in Bible-based teaching and committed to sharing the hope of the Gospel of Jesus to everyone, has been a locally established church serving Van Wert and surrounding communities since 1863. We have had several names and few different buildings, but our mission has never changed.
What We Believe
God
We believe God’s very existence is community in the Trinity of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Scripture
We believe and teach the Bible as the inspired and authoritative word of God.
Humans
We believe that all humanity is created in the image of God and possess intrinsic dignity and worth.
Sin
We believe that the Bible defines sin, and that sin has fractured all things, leaving the world in desperate need of salvation.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
Church
We believe that the Church is the family of God and the body of Christ sent into the world to share the gospel and make more disciples.
Sacraments
We believe the church has two sacraments: Baptism and Communion. Baptism marks the beginning of our lifelong journey as disciples of Jesus, and communion nourishes and sustains us on that journey.
Historical Christianity
Being a congregation of the Global Methodist Church, we believe and profess the teachings of historical Christianity.
